Port of Sidney to Bedwell Harbor (Poet’s Cove)       1 hour                        10.5 miles
Fred got up early to return the rental car while I prepared for departure.  I still really don’t have the boat as organized as I would have liked.  The weather is mostly sunny and the water is calm.  It is a very short trip to Poet’s Cove.  While we were in Bounday Pass Fred ran the engines up to 2800 rpm (WOT) and our speed jumped to 19 kts.  We quickly brought the speed and rpm back down to save fuel but it is nice to know we can go that speed if necessary.  Fred looked up Poet’s Cove on the web last night and found out that the marina has a special going on.  Usually the price for a slip is $1.40-$1.50 per foot (we are 57 feet!) now there is a mid-week special of $46/for 2 nights.  This is too good to pass up.  Usually we anchor out here but the dock is practically empty and it is fun to bring Merlin up to the beach to play.
We went to the Aurora restaurant for steak and prawn dinner.  We had to wear our jackets but it was a beautiful evening and we sat outside on the balcony and watched the sunset.  By the time we were back on the boat at 8:30 pm the heavens opened up and the rain poured down.  We were safe and warm.
