Day Two - 431 miles

We started our day with a good breakfast, included in the price.  We were on the road a little after 8 am again today.  Of course we went to Starbucks before we got onto the freeway.  Yesterday the weather was overcast with some heavy rain but today is gorgeous.  Today we had to navigate through several heavy populated areas.  Heading through Portland was the first zoo and on through Olympia, Tacoma and then Seattle.  Actually we made very good time and the old Mercedes wagon got 25-28 mpg!  That was with a 4WD car, fully loaded at 70+ mph.  We stopped for lunch at a little hamburger place before you get to Mt. Saint Helen's visitor center.  The burgers are so-so but the milkshakes are made the old fashioned way and are yummy.   We got into Anacortes a little after 4 PM and headed
right over to North Harbor Diesel to see if Emerald Star is out of the barn and on the hard.  Nope, not out yet.  Diane said she should be out tomorrow.  After a little decompressing, we went across the street to Bob's Chowder Bar for fish & chips.  Early to bed in preparation for a busy day working on Emerald Star tomorrow.
